You may be eligible for free treatment depending on your circumstances and your pharmacist’s recommendation.

Who is eligible for this scheme?
- NHS low income scheme and in possession of HC2 certificate
- Income support or income related employment allowance
- Income based job seeker's allowance
- Tax credit exemption certificate
- Pension credit guarantee credit
- Universal credit and meets certain criteria
- Homeless & in possession of 'Letter of Homelessness'
- Young people aged 16,17 or 18 years and in full time education
- Patients aged under 16 years who have at least one parent

What is the ‘Pharmacy First’ scheme?
Thisservice is for eligible people who may not be able to afford selected over-the-counter medicines for managing minor illness. Exemption from NHS prescription charges does not automatically make you eligible for this Pharmacy First scheme.
Who is the service for?
You can use this service if you are registered with a GP practice in Lambeth and/or a Lambeth resident and meets the eligibility criteria.
Do I need to book an appointment?
- You will not be required to book an appointment to see a pharmacist. You can walk in to the pharmacy and ask for advice.
- It is a confidential and high quality service designed to meet the needs of our patients.
Which pharmacy can I visit?
There are selected pharmacies in Lambeth who are signed up to provide the service. Only selected pharmacies can provide free treatment if you are eligible. Free advice is available for all pharmacies. Please scan the QR code for a list of participating pharmacies.
What will the pharmacy ask me?
The pharmacist will ask you a range of questions about your symptoms, medicines, history of illness and any other illness you have. This information is necessary for the pharmacist to help you feel better and get better. Pharmacists are trained to treat minor ailments.
Will I always get treatment for my illness?
You will be given appropriate advice to help you get better. Pharmacist may be able to decide if you need any treatment under this scheme after having a chat with you. In some cases, pharmacist may decide to refer you back to the GP practice if your illness needs further attention.
