Registrar Training

We are a training practice and you may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar. These doctors are fully qualified and are completing their specialist training as a GP at Herne Hill Group Practice before finding their own practice.

As part of this we occasionally make video recordings of consultations. This is only done with the patient’s permission, and is used for training purposes only. All recordings remain strictly confidential and are only shared with their GP tutor. If you do not wish your consultation to be recorded, please inform us.

Medical Students

On occasion, you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse in the presence of a student doctor as seeing patients and our team at work is important for their training. These are doctors who have not yet fully qualified and need to spend time observing General Practice as part of their education. We will inform you before your appointment and obtain your consent if a student is present. You may of course always see the doctor or nurse in private if you prefer.

Medical Reception and Administration Students

To support Lambeth Colledge’s NVQ course in Medical Reception and Administration, we have students on work placement here as part of their course. We appreciate your understanding in the learning phase of their time with us when they may have to ask for advice from the more experienced staff while assisting you.
